I first connected with Natalie and Ryan in November of 2024 when Natalie reached out about their June 2025 wedding. Later that week during our consult call, she shared some exciting news: Ryan had been accepted into the FDNY Training Academy, which meant their wedding plans were moving up to early May.

I was so happy to still be available for their new date, and it ended up being my very first wedding of the 2025! They wanted to squeeze in an engagement session, so we planned it for early March to make sure that they had their photos back in time for all the wedding things.

Since their wedding would take place at The Wingate Barn in Livonia, NY, Natalie wanted their engagement photos to feel completely different from their venue. A downtown Rochester city shoot felt like the perfect fit.

The day of the session was cold and wildly windy, but Natalie and Ryan were absolute champs. We kicked things off on a rooftop, then after a quick outfit change, headed down to street level to wrap up the session. They were such a fun couple to photograph—totally in tune with current photo trends, but also more than happy to trust my prompts and lean into the moment.

By the end of the session, windswept hair and all, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special. Natalie and Ryan bring such an easy, joyful energy together, and getting to photograph this milestone made me even more excited to celebrate with them in just a few short months. If their engagement session was any indication, I knew their wedding day was going to be a whole lot of fun.

Spoiler: I was right :)
