I met Abigail and Cora in a playground meetup group last summer. Cora is just a month older than my daughter Remy, and they were fast friends. We both recently welcomed pandemic baby girls this past spring, so we have plenty in common in this crazy, fun season of motherhood.
I was so excited when Abigail reached out to me to do a family portrait session, and even more excited when she and her husband, Taylor, chose Ontario Beach Park. One of the coolest things about living in Rochester is the fact that it is situated right on Lake Ontario, and being on a Great Lake makes photos look like you're on the ocean.
It was a chilly Sunday morning in September, but I'm so glad that they agreed to a morning session because you guys, the light is so worth it. I promise you. It's worth it every single time.
Honestly, one of my very favorite things about shooting with young families is that they are what they are. You can only pose a toddler and an infant so much. I live for the candid, real moments that young families naturally have amongst each other: building sandcastles, kissing baby cheeks, watching seagulls swim over the water.
Klaus Family, thank you for choosing me and sharing your family with me for a little while. You're all so sweet.
