These people. They're my people.

Way back in 2013, my husband and I moved to Worcester, Massachusetts so that he could begin his journey in Optometry school. It was a brand new adventure. We'd never lived so far from family and friends. We set off having no one but each other.

We met Hans and Katy the very first week of school. They were freshly married and like us, had just moved to this brand new city so that Hans could attend Optometry school. They were from Iowa, so much further from home than us, but excited for their new chapter.

Over the course of the four years of school, we all became the very best of friends. They were in our wedding. We've traversed time zones many times to see each other. Costa Rica. Denver. Boston. Chicago. Anaheim. New York. Iowa. Springfield. Kansas City-- They are some of my most treasured humans on this planet. I always tell Katy that I've waited a lifetime for a friend like her. And here she is.

And just look at their beautiful family. All of our kids are nearly identical ages, and that's been so fun for all of us. We got to travel to Missouri to see them this summer, and I had the pleasure of snapping a few family photos for them. Take a peak at just how wonderful these people are 🖤
