Back in 2023, I photographed a beautiful backyard wedding for Jessica and Ryan in Fillmore, NY. Among the bridesmaids, there was a wonderful girl named Emily. She was sweet and kind, and a fantastically supportive friend to Jess.
About six months after the wedding, I received an inquiry from Emily. This is one of those moments that feel surreal in this industry, at least for me. Bridesmaids are like little flies on the wall all day during a wedding. They smile and follow directions, and are often a big help to me as a photographer! They get to spend the whole day with me, watch me work, and see my process from beginning to end. I'm there to serve the bride and groom, and they are watching.
Getting an inquiry from a past bridesmaid is one of the greatest forms of flattery. They saw me work on a day that wasn't all about them, and loved working with me so much that they want to work with me themselves. It truly makes the honor even greater.
Emily and her fiance James wanted their engagement session at Cobbs Hill Park, as they often met up there while they were dating. They are fun and silly and so unserious about everything except each other. They brought a pretty blanket and a Wegman's bakery cake to their session, and absolutely delighted in eating it together.
I sent their gallery to a photography friend (shout out Shanna!), and her very first impression was: "wow. look at how he looks at her."
AND IT'S TRUE. Look at how he looks at her! This was the dreamiest session, their wedding will be spectacular this coming may, and I am the luckiest little photo lady to be able to be a small part in it all.
